I’ve been drawing since I was 8 years old. It seemed easy for me at the time, but I soon learned there was more to art than I had anticipated. Decades later I’m still learning.
I majored in art at SMU and took post graduate courses at the Dayton Art Institute. Later I became an art director with both commercial design and animation studios. My background in film production helped led me to create two film-videotape companies and a profession that eventually resulted in two Clio’s for the most outstanding commercials in the US. After 40 years of using my art background in film and videotape, I changed careers and became a psychotherapist. Twelve years later I find it greatly influences my approach and insight into art.
I paint for my own pleasure, produce and distribute psychotherapy educational videos to colleges and universities throughout the US, and provide online continuing education for psychotherapists. I also teach oil painting art classes at Richland College, and am past president of the Richardson Civic Art Society. Through painting, I try to express images that reflect and appeal to both the heart and mind.
